The Science and Technology (Amendment) Act of 1979 formed KEMRI as a state company. From humble beginnings over 40 years ago, KEMRI has evolved to become a regional leader in human health research. Center for Clinical Research

This Center was founded in 1985 as a clinical trials facility to aid in developing medicines and vaccines to combat the country’s most pressing diseases. Over the years, this Center has been offering job opportunities to most people who meet the qualifications. CCR was a must-see for medical students at the University of Nairobi who wanted to learn about the importance of research in drug development and how to treat patients properly.

Center for Respiratory Diseases Research

Tuberculosis research was conducted under the auspices of the East African Community, which included Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, all of which were under British authority at the time. The current CRDR facilities were built in the early 1970s, with a 1980 addition.

Center for Microbiology Research

This was one of the first research institutes established by the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI). Center for Public Health Research

Before its formal transfer to KEMRI, CPHR was known as the Medical Research Centre (MRC), and it was run by the Royal Tropical Institute of Amsterdam (KIT) until 1987.

Center for Disease Control and Surveillance

The Mandera Centre was established with the aim and goal of preventing, safeguarding, and managing the spread of communicable and infectious illnesses, as well as other health risks, whether they originate in the nation or from elsewhere.

Oversee the creation and execution of the Mandera Antimicrobial Resistance Strategy, which involves collaborating with state and territorial monitoring efforts and linking them to worldwide antimicrobial resistance (AMR) response activities.
